The Chickasaw County Historical and Genealogical Museum and Research Center is located in Houston, County of Chickasaw, State of Mississippi. The campus is comprised of the research center available for family and historical research; the inside museum; the outside barn; blacksmith shop; Parkersburg Depot Stop; antique cars, tractors, wagons, and various pieces of farm equipment. The barn includes a great cotton planting and picking display. Many period items such as washboards, bathtubs and hand-painted murals by various local artists that depict life in the early years of our county are also displayed in the outdoor buildings.
