This area of the museum contains medical equipment and tools from early years in the area, donated by local families. The exhibit includes the following:  a sign from the Tabb Pharmacy, uniform from a nurse who attended nursing school at Houston Hospital School of Nursing, dental equipment from Dr. Stubblefield and many other items of interest.

This area of the museum contains memorabilia from many artists with connections to Chickasaw County, Mississippi. The musicians had roots in Blues, Christian, Square Dancing, Pop, and Country music. Equipment from the early years of WCPC Radio station can be viewed in the museum.

The Native American exhibit features pictures of the chiefs from this area. It also has Indian arrowhead collections found in our county. Tools such as stone grinders used by Native Americans and other items used in everyday life are also displayed. 

This collection includes memorabilia from rodeo cowboys and cowgirls of the county. They include Tim Cook, who participated in rodeos, as well as appearing in movies. Buckles, crowns, saddles, and other equipment are a part of this collection.

This area of the museum includes items from the Houston Movie Theater, the Houston Drive-In, and other local food attractions. It also houses an original speaker from the Drive-In Theater, popcorn machine, peanut roaster, and movie bills of upcoming attractions.

This exhibit includes information on successful local sports figures, teams, and equipment.

Homestead Exhibit

This area is a reproduction of an early American home with an antique icebox, cook stove, phone, bed, furniture, spinning wheel, and quilts. This area also houses a corner of a log cabin that was located in Chickasaw county and information on the family who lived there.

The Military Room in the museum houses uniforms from the Civil War, WWII, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Iraq War and the Afganistan War. In this area of the museum there is a great deal of information on military members from our county.  The Military Room offers a table for visitors to sit and look through available albums. The albums offer a wealth of information, including photographs; documents; letters; and information compiled by Sharyn Sanderson.

There is also some memorabilia in this section from Young Studio and other businesses in the area.

We currently feature a Masonic Exhibit in the museum, which will be rotating out in the spring. We strive to periodically display new exhibits to allow visitors an opportunity to view a variety of items.  

This area in the museum is set up to showcase items from the many schools that have served Chickasaw County. The items displayed in the School Exhibit section bring back fond memories.

This section displays books written by authors from Chickasaw County, including a Pulitzer Prize winning author.

There are many outside exhibits including the barn; blacksmith shop; Parkersburg Depot Stop; antique cars; tractors; wagons and various pieces of farm equipment. The barn includes a great cotton planting and picking display.
